Galería Panchita
Only 6 km away from Cueva de Agua, still in the municipality of Villa de Garafía, you can visit the archeological museum of La Zarza and La Zarcita one of the most important in the Canaries.

This rural house in Garafía takes its name after its latest inhabitant, Panchita, a well recognised craftwoman who made typical woollen blankets from local sheep wool. Many "Garafianos" still cover their beds with such blankets. This small and cosy house, more than one hundred years old, has been restored, keeping its old structure and size. Most impressive are the two big stones at the entrance, its simple but wonderful ceiling and wooden floor, hand made from the core of the Canarian Pine, dear wood known as "Tea". Situated on the coastal area of Cueva de Agua it enjoys a mild climate and it is sorrounded by almond trees, impressive when in white smelling flowers. The smell adds to the one from confestimer’s shop not more than 50 m away, where a traditional confectioner still makes and sells all kind of typical cakes. Facing the worm West, the house is perfectly incorporated to the environment and takes advantage of a maximum of sun hours. The wonderful sunsets, unforgatable on this side of the Canaries, make this place an ideal refuge for couples seeking a really different holidays in a rustic and cosy atmosphere.

Casa Panchita is situated at 524 m over the sea level, in Villa de Garafía. This municipality gives its name to a new planet called "Garafía", discovered in 2006 from the Observatory of Roque de Los Muchachos. The island of La Palma, in fact, has been recently declared by the UNESCO a World Reserve of the Biosphere. 2400 m further up the top of the island, EL Roque de Los Muchachos, gathers the most important sky Observatory of the Northern Hemisphere: a complex of international telescopes. You can visit the place by car and admire a neat clean sky from the border of La Caldera de Taburiente, a big natural depresion full of impresive views. There is also in the nearby of Cueva de Agua a starting point of many walles and routes ideal for ramblers. That’s where the famous animal fair of San Antonio takes place in mid-June. Cattle, sheeps, goats and the local "Garafiano Shepherd" dogs gather in a well organized fair to honour the patron of all animals, San Antonio, on the 13th June. Another attraction is the coast line, some 4 km from the house, full of cliffs and bays very much worth visiting.
