Los Abuelos
is
situated in the area of Arecida, in Tijarafe, in the west of the island, where you can find one of the best
climates in
La Palma.
DESCRIPTION:
This building dates back to the beginning of the
XVIII century and was
originally home to farmers and cattle farmers. It has been renovated to create a pleasant
and welcoming place, but yet
it has not lost its original essence. Those were the elements that the owner wished
to retain when it came to its
renovation. The main features to be found in the extensive patios and gardens are
made from stone, and the ancient
instruments made from the stone have been preserved (mill stones, sinks). From
the terraces we can contemplate the
magnificent sunsets, one of the most beautiful moments of the day,
especially in this area of the island. The interior
of the house boasts a very inviting ambient, having
maintained the original architecture of the building. Each corner
enjoys natural sunlight and views over the
gardens and vegetable plots. The large swimming pool offers the possibility
of enjoying a pleasant dip or a spot
of sunbathing in the comfort of the sun beds to be found around the pool’s edge.
The building is set in an area
dedicated to the growing of avocados, but also has many other fruit trees that can be
enjoyed by the guests
(oranges, papayas, medlar tree, mangos, etc). Another element to be pointed out is the
rehabilitation of the
ancient cave, to which a BBQ area has been added, complete with tables and chairs to help enjoy
these unbeatable
moments. All of this combined with the marvellous views of the sea and pine trees make this house an
ideal place
for enjoying a few days of relaxation that will surely be remembered for a long time.
Casa
Los
Abuelos B has a barbecue et a swimming pool in common use with Casa Los Abuelos A. The size of the swimming pool is:
10m x 4m; deep: 1.80m, 1.60m and 1.50m.
SITUATION:
The house and gardens are to be
found at the
end of a long track, hence the tranquillity and isolation from the noise of the road. The track is
surfaced and is some
500mts from the main road, which leads to the village of Tijarafe after a short distance of
5 minutes, which provides
the area with the perfect balance between tranquillity and access to nearby services
(chemist, supermarket, bank, etc.
).
